State's Cooperatives Reaped 1,377m Yuan Last Year

China's supply and marketing cooperatives reported a net profit of 1,377m yuan in 2000, 14,335m yuan more than previous year, thus putting an end to years' loss making of the trade in China.

The state's cooperatives had suffered from continuous losses since 1995, with a deficit peak up 15,639m yuan in 1998. Then a goal was set in 1999 to turn losses into profits within three years but a cut was made to two years, namely, a target materialized "in two years instead of three".
