Social Sciences Academy Opens Center for Young Scholars

China's top think tank, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Thursday celebrated the opening of a social sciences center for young scholars.

The newly-established research center aims to cultivate young talents in the field of social sciences and encourage more academic achievements with practical value.

At the inaugural ceremony, CASS President Li Tieying said that the center should create a good environment for promoting young scholars.

At the past two annual work conferences, the CASS management body discussed the plans for the center.

The center is scheduled to organize influential young experts to carry out key scientific projects and participate in international academic exchanges.

The CASS has more than 1,300 research fellows under age 40.
