Russian Defense Minister Visits Yugoslavia

Russian Defense Minister Marshal Igor Sergeyev arrived in Belgrade Tuesday for an official visit at the invitation of his Yugoslav counterpart, according to Tanjug.

Sergeyev and Yugoslav Defense Minister Slobodan Krapovic will discuss the future development of bilateral cooperation in defense on Wednesday.

The two ministers will also discuss the military and political situation in southern Serbia and the Balkans in general, and the support that Russia can provide in resolving the current problems.

Sergeyev will also visit Kosovo's capital Pristina, where he will meet KFOR commander Italian General Carlo Cabigiosu and UN civilian mission chief Hans Haekkerup.
