One Dead, Six Injured in Street Shooting in Hunan Province

One man was killed and six others were injured on February 5 as a gang of bandits fired shots at a taxi on a street in Shaoyang City, central China's Hunan Province.

According to the witnesses, at 3 o'clock, Li Yan, Zhang Qinghua and four others took a taxi after shopping at a clothes shop on the Shaoshui Street. Their taxi cab ran barely 200 meters when it was stopped by another car. Then six young men with pistols and hunting guns in their hands jumped out of the car, surrounded the taxi and opened fire at it before fleeing in their car.

The taxi driver by the name of Liu was killed with a bullet hitting his head.

The Shaoyang Police sent 100 policemen to the spot immediately after the shooting and found three bullets of hunting guns and three bullets of pistols.
