Taipei "Mayor" to Visit Hong Kong

Ma Ying-jeou, "mayor" of Taipei, will lead a delegation to Hong Kong on February 11-15, according to the Hong Kong Policy Research Institute (HKPRI) Wednesday, February 7, in Hong Kong.

As guests of the HKPRI, Ma and his party will attend the fifth anniversary of the HKPRI and the Two-City Forum organized by the HKPRI and the Taiwan Research Institute.

The theme of this year's Two-City Forum will be focused on the livelihood. Representatives from Hong Kong and Taipei are expected to exchange views of municipal administration and livelihood, said Jane Lee, chief executive of the HKPRI, at a press briefing Wednesday.

The 40-member delegation comes from the Taipei city authorities and Taiwan local media.

During their stay in Hong Kong, they will also visit the Hong Kong Planning Department, Transportation Department and the Mass Transit Railway Corporation, and study Hong Kong's IT education and tourism development.
