Jiang Zemin's Remarks on Science and Technology PublishedChinese President Jiang Zemin's remarks on science and technology were published recently in Beijing.
The book, edited by the Party Literature Research Center of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, includes 49 entries of articles, letters and written instructions made by Jiang between December 1989 and October 2000. Jiang is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
Jiang's words analyze the current situation and trends of the world's scientific and technological development; elaborate on China's policy of revitalizing the nation through scientific and educational advancement; underscore the importance of effective management in encouraging scientific initiatives; and urge scientists to spread basic knowledge of science and technology among the common people.
