Foreign Ministry Commissioner's Office Spokesperson on "Falun Gong" Cult

A spokesperson with the Office of the Commissioner of China's Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) said in Hong Kong Monday that no organization or person is allowed to turn Hong Kong into a center for "Falun Gong" activities and use Hong Kong as an anti-China base.

"Falun Gong" is an anti-human, anti-society, anti-science evil cult with political purposes, the spokesperson said. "What 'Falun Gong' has done have fully exposed that the cult isnot protecting the human rights at all but treading on the human rights, and not safeguarding the freedom but strangling the freedom," noted the spokesperson when asked to comment on the upcoming visit of government officials of a certain foreign country to Hong Kong to meet "Falun Gong" members and find out human rights situations in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.

The spokesperson said that it is entirely necessary for the Chinese government to ban the "Falun Gong" evil cult according to the laws.

The spokesperson pointed out that "Falun Gong" members in Hong Kong, in their recent political activities, have already stripped away their pretensions to be "non-political, non-anti-government,

and no association with any political force," and they have directed their target of attack at the Central Government.

No organization or person is allowed to try to turn Hong Kong into a center for "Falun Gong" activities, to use Hong Kong as an anti-China base, to tarnish the "one country, two systems" principle, and to damage the social stability and prosperity in Hong Kong, the spokesperson stressed, adding that their attempts are doomed to failure.

The spokesperson pointed out that Hong Kong SAR affairs are the internal matters of China.

"We are firmly opposed to any foreign government and its officials in their interference in China's internal affairs by making use of 'Falun Gong' issue," the spokesperson added.
