Flooding in Mozambique to Be Worse: Experts

Mozambican experts Friday warned that the flooding in the central region of the country may be even worse, though the deluge has already displaced some 25,000 people.

Zambezia Province is among the worst-hit, said Silvano Langa, director of the National Disasters Management Institute, confirming a death toll of six in the floods.

If the rains continue, some rivers will burst and more severe floods will follow, said the official.

Houses built by flimsy materials had collapsed, many roads had been blocked, and small bridges washed away, he said.
