Clinton to Give His First Paid Speech

Former President Clinton on Feb.5 will give his first paid speech since leaving office last month to brokers and bankers in Florida for a reported $100,000.

Clinton, who handed over the White House to President George W. Bush on Jan. 20 and moved to the New York suburb of Chappaqua, will speak at a Morgan Stanley Dean Witter conference in Boca Raton, Florida, next Monday, his spokesman, Jake Siewert, said on Thursday.

He would not confirm press reports that Clinton would be paid $100,000 for the speaking engagement. ``We're not discussing that,'' Siewert said, referring to the fee.
