China to Dismantle Buildings Along Sino-DPRK Border RiverYalu River, which forms the border between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), will regain its neat scenery after China demolishes all the constructions along the river bank.More green space along the river and sightseeing roads will be set up to replace those small parks, business and official buildings scattered on the banks, according to Jiang Zuoyong, acting mayor of Dandong, the largest border city on the river, in northeast China's Liaoning Province. Local government made the decision to "repackage" the river last month, noticing that the jumbled construction along the bank does not complement the river landscape. To make sure that there is a clean and tidy environment to welcome tourists, Jiang promised that no more buildings will be set up along the river in the future. |
