Beijing's Expressways to Be Tripled in Half Decade

Beijing will construct 400 km expressways in the next five years, which will triple its present 216 km of expressways.

Some of the expressways, such as part of the Beijing-Kaifeng Expressway, the first phase of the First Ring Road, and the third phase of Badaling Expressway, are under construction.

In addition, the second, third, and fourth phases of the First Ring Road Project will soon start and the total length is about 300 km.

There are currently six expressways in Beijing, which lead to Tianjin, Shijiazhuang and other places.

With the conclusion of these projects, a large and efficient expressway network will be formed in Beijing.
