Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant Operates Safely for 1,000 Days
The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, located in south China's Guangdong Province, have operated continuously and safely for a record 1,000 days.
According to sources with the station, the station generated 14 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity last year.
Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, first built in Guangdong, had generated a total of 84 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity by the end of last year since it became operational in 1994.
The power station registered an industrial output value of 6.9 billion yuan (US$831 million) and earned US$590 million in foreign exchange in 1999. At present, 72.1 percent of the total loans for constructing the project have been repaid.
