Nigerian President Dissolves Cabinet
Nigeria
n President Olusegun Obasanjo has dissolved his 20-month-old Federal Executive Council, or the country's cabinet, and is expected to form a new one soon, a Nigerian government spokesman said in the capital Abuja on Wednesday.
There was wide-spread speculation in the country lately that Obasanjo would dismiss most of his ministers for failing to discharge the expected duties.
Obasanjo made a major cabinet reshuffle last June following the first anniversary of his civil government, which was inaugurated in May 1999 after decade-long military rule.
