Macao Chief Executive Presents Lunar New Year Message

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), called for concerted efforts from the government and residents to revitalize the economy and achieve social progress.

He made the expectation Tuesday in a message marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on January 24.

"All people should understand, support and encourage each other to get rid of public obstacles and share the results of cooperation," he said, quoting a traditional Chinese phrase that a harmonious home makes everything go on smoothly.

The chief executive extended his best wishes to the residents and gave special thanks to those who have to work during the Spring Festival period.
