China's Steel Production Rises
China's steel production rose 0.2 percent in the first 11 months of 2000 to 115.21 million tons, according to the latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The output of rolled steel, wire rod, steel plate, seamless steel tubes and other steel products increased 10.9 percent over the same period of 1999 to 119.25 million tons.
The country produced 194.29 million tons of iron ore in the said period, up 10 percent year-on-year.
The production of 10 kinds of non-ferrous alloys totaled 6.90 million tons, rising 15.9 percent.
