First Analogue IC Production Line Built in Sichuan

Construction of the first high- grade analogue Integrated circuit production line in western part of China started Saturday at the Chengdu High-tech Development Zone in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

It is the only production line for making 6.05-inch IC chip in China and a key IT project in Sichuan Province.

The project expects to cost an investment of 1.2 billion yuan. Upon operation, the production line is to turn out 1,500 chips per month and generate a sales income of 860 million yuan annually.

At present, 80 percent of the IC chips used in China are imported from abroad.
