China Dispatches 13 Peace-keeping Policemen to East Timor

At the request of the United Nations, China dispatched another 13 civilian policemen on January 18 to the UN Transitional Administration in East Timor to help carry out the UN peace-keeping mission.

China sent its first batch of peace-keeping police to East Timor in January, 2000 and fulfilling their tasks, they will return home on January 25, 2001. The 13 dispatched policemen will succeed them and continue their mission in East Timor.
