14 Guerrillas Surrender to Authorities in Colombia

Fourteen guerrillas from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) surrendered to the police and the Colombian marines on Saturday in the port of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, navy authorities said in a communique later that day.

According to the communique, the guerrillas were aged 15 to 24. They were part of the Front 29 acting on the Colombian Pacific coast.

The guerrillas, dressed as civilians, arrived at the port in a boat, coming from Bocas de Satinga, Narino in southwestern Columbia.

Assault rifles, grenades, ammunition and a home-made mortar, were among the weaponry carried by the rebels, said the communique.
