Large Salt Deposit Discovered in Shannxi Province
A large rock salt deposit with reserves estimated at 978.2 billion tons has been found in the Zhenchuan-Mizhi area in Yulin, northwest China's Shannxi Province.
The deposit extends over 4,600 square kilometers, geologists say.
Assessment by experts indicates that the deposit's potential reserves can reach six trillion tons, more than China's total rock salt reserves that have been verified so far.
