HK Awards Outstanding Junior Police

More than 80 Junior Police Call (JPC) members and groups were praised Saturday for their remarkable contributions in community services.

The award scheme, which has been launched since 1977, is held annually by the Hong Kong Police Force to give due recognition to dedicated members of JPC - the largest youth organization in Hong Kong, attracting some 180,000 youngsters to join.

This is the 15th consecutive year that the scheme is sponsored by Hongkong Bank Foundation.

At the prize presentation ceremony of the Hongkong Bank Foundation JPC Awards 2000, Commissioner of Police Tsang Yam-pui presented commendation trophies, plaques and cash awards to winners of the scheme, along with Lau Yuk-kuen, deputy commissioner of police (operations), and Tse Man bun, senior executive of HSBC (Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation).

The award scheme was divided into four categories: the Best JPC Member, the Best JPC Leader, the Best JPC School Club and the Best JPC Council.
