Sino-France Association Awards Medals

On January 18, Sino-France Association awarded the "Sino-France 2000" medals to 13 Chinese and French enterprises including Chinese Medical Association and French Carrefour Supermarket Group for the great contributions made in the economic, cultural and scientific exchanges between the two countries. Founded in 1994, the association aims at promoting cooperation and friendship between the two countries. Picture shows president of the association (right) is awarding a prize to the representative of the Chinese Medical Association.

Marine Aquatic Industry Booms in Hainan

Recent years have witnessed a rapid growth in the marine aquatic industry in Hainan province. It harvested 78,000 tons of aquatic products in 2000, up 31 percent over the previous year with the output value hitting 2 billion yuan, a rise of 48 percent over that in 1999. Confucius Temple Adorned for Spring Festival in Nanjing
