Actress Meets Her Match at Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong

Hong Kong's popular actress Michelle Yeoh Friday became the first Hong Kong celebrity to meet her own double at the Madame Tussaud's wax portraits exhibition.

It is a long-established tradition that when a celebrity is immortalized in wax by Madame Tussaud's, they are invited to a special "side by side" reception to view their own likeness.

This is the first time since the attraction opened last August that a "side by side" has been staged at Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong. Yeoh's portrait, which took six months to make, was recently completed at the Studios in London and flown in to Hong Kong to join the exhibition.

Michelle Yeoh, who is famous for her tough action roles, was formerly a national swimming champion and was once crowned Miss Malaysia, before going on to achieve stardom as an actress.

Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong is the first permanent Madame Tussaud's in Asia. The attraction features around 100 portraits of the world's most famous people, including local celebrities like Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh and Lee Lai Shan.
