Boat Capsized in Lancang River
A boat carrying 15 peasants capsized in the Lancang River in southwest China's
Yunnan
Province Tuesday. Three have been saved and 12 others are still missing.
Of the people missing, the oldest is 60 and the youngest is 19.
An initial investigation shows that the boat was overloaded and was the main cause of its capsizing. The Yunnan provincial government has sent a work team to Lahu Autonomous County of Lancang in Simao area for rescue efforts.
Rescue efforts are ongoing.
