'Fujianese in America' to Be Shot"Fujianese in America" is a topic serial TV film to be shot by Fujian International Cultural and Economic Exchange Center in cooperation with Fujian Culture Communication Association and Fujian Cable TV Station. Fujianese work and life pursuits in the US along with the problem of illegal immigration will be in focus.Zhu Mingyuan, secretary-general of Fujian International Cultural and Economic Exchange Center, said that "Fujianese in America" is to be a serial TV film shot on spots. Fujianese contributions to US economy and social progress, efforts made in promoting mutual understanding and exchanges between China and the US, achievements accomplished in Fujian's reform, opening and economic construction; and their role in safeguarding reunification of the motherland and opposing "Taiwan independence" will all be duly represented. TV serial "Fujianese in America", as is reported, will be shot in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston in the US and Fuijan Province. Done into 12 parts, lasting about 2250 minutes in all, it is reportedly to be completed and premiered on the 30th Anniversary of issuance of Sino-US Shanghai Communiqu¨¦s in 1972. So far, over 11 million Fujianese are found living abroad, and of these a great number are in the US. TV serial "Fujianese in America" will not only trace the long history of the life of Fujianese and their friendship with American counterparts, it will also exhibit the prospects of bilateral trade and cultural and economic exchanges between Fujian and the US in the new century.
