Italian Prime Minister Visits ShanghaiItalian Prime Minister Giuliano Amato arrived in this east China city Tuesday night and was met by Shanghai Mayor Xu Kuangdi.The Shanghai mayor briefed Amato on the development of Shanghai's economy, urban construction and people's living standards over the past decade. Amato said he highly appreciates Shanghai's development. He said Italy hopes to conduct more exchanges with Shanghai in areas like science, technology and trade. The prime minister arrived in China Monday for a three-day visit as a guest of Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji. |
