China to Initiate Auto Modality Authentication
According to sources released, China's auto catalogue management, which has been in use for 15 years, will be given way to a modality authentication system in the country's auto sector this year.
Auto catalogue management, since introduction under the planned economy, has helped boost China's auto industry, checked an unreasonable development of autos from being too fast and excessive auto production and ensure the high efficiency of investments and product quality in the auto sector.
But as things stand in China's auto sector, a change has already been made to the country's auto market from the sellers' to one of the buyers when a competitive market economy is developed. For a much longer declaration time is needed by auto manufacturers for their products, auto production retarded and competition hindered by auto catalogue management, modality authentication is demanded in accord with international practices.
To do away with catalogue management, which has been in use in China for 15 years since 1985, is an important step taken by the State Economic and Trade Commission after it took over some functions from the State Administration of Machinery Industry.
As is ruled by auto modality authentication generally practiced in many foreign countries abroad, auto manufacturers can put their products to sale on markets permitted merely according to testing results by special designated institutes. So far, the accurate transit time of the two and the time to do away with the old this year have not been confirmed yet.
Some reports said that products listed in the current catalogue will be reserved for two more years, and new transitional management rules will be accordingly hammered out for new products put to sale in time.
The said new system, as is learned, does not mean to call off all limitations on the auto sector and production of autos at will in China.
Auto modality authentication will boost the development of China' auto sector and production and upstaging of sophisticated types of autos and new auto models.
