World's Largest LCD screen Developed in Nanjing

A Nanjing-based joint venture between the Panda Group of China and the Sharp Group of Japan recently launched the world's largest color liquid crystal display (LCD) screen of 28 inches.

With a projected retail price of 148,000 yuan, the LCD is mainly used for convention centers.

Liquid crystal display, which has been called "green television", is vision-friendly, electricity-efficient and has a significantly long life span of 30 years.

The LCD has only one tenth the thickness and one third the weight of ordinary televisions sets, and can be connected to the computer and logged on to the Internet.
