Second Globalization Forum Concludes

The three-day Second Globalization Forum concluded in Sanya of Hainan Province on Sunday, January 14.

More than 300 participants including renowned political figures, distinguished scholars and experts on technology, finance, culture and the environment from China and overseas exchanged views on economic globalization, an issue facing the whole world.

Bai Keming, president of the Chinese newspaper People's Daily and chairman of the forum, addressed the closing ceremony.

Bai said that the participants have reached several agreements during the forum. Firstly, the participants agreed that the process of economic globalization should be based on equality, justice and mutual benefit, and co-existence and common prosperity are goals for all human beings to strive for.

Secondly, knowledge and innovation are the keys for countries to expand their economies, and education will promote innovation.

Thirdly, countries should deal with the problems and utilize the benefits that economic globalization, a world trend, has brought about.

The forum was organized by the People's Daily, the Hong Hong- based Foundation for Globalization Cooperation, and China's Ministry of Information Industry.
