Cuba Confirms Plans to Open Embassy in Senegal

The Cuban Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday the upcoming opening of its embassy in Senegal, which Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque is currently visiting.

A source from the Foreign Ministry said consolidating links between both countries through diplomatic representations is an long-time goal.

The Cuban minister will conclude his two-day visit to Dakar, Senegal, on Friday, the first leg of his visit, which will also take him to Algeria, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Iran.

In a meeting with Senegalese Foreign Minister, Tidiane Gadio, Perez Roque announced the Cuban interest in opening the new embassy.
