Top Four Trade Partners of China's Mainland UnchangedThe top four trade partners of China's mainland in 2000 were Japan, the US, EU and Hong Kong SAR, the same with the year before last, according to the latest statistics released by China Customs Wednesday, January 10.The top ten partners were Japan, the US, EU, HKSAR, ASEAN, ROK, Taiwan, Australia, Russia, and Canada. Trade volumes with them reached a total of US$408.5bn, accounting for 86 percent of China's import/export values. The export/import value of China's mainland with following countries and regions in 2000 were (in US$1m unit): Japan 41,650/41,510, the US 52,100/22,360, EU 38,190/30,850, HK 44,520/9,430, ASEAN 17,340/22,180, Taiwan Province 5,040/25,490. Last year saw a vigorous growth in China's export to countries and regions recovering in economy, such as ASEAN, ROK and Russia with a growth rate of all over 40 percent, while that to Japan was also above the average.
