Studio Center to Be Set up in Macao
The government of the
Macao
Special Administrative Region (SAR) has approved the construction of a studio center for the making of TV programs and movies.
The Macao Daily News Thursday quoted a local official as saying that the project will be undertaken by a
Hong Kong
-based company.
Initial construction plan of the studio center will involve an investment of 200 million patacas (US$25 million) and be completed by 2002, said Ao Man Long, secretary for the transportation and public works of the Macao SAR government.
He said the government expects that the studio center will boost local economy, particularly the tourist development.
