Hun Sen Assures Not to Reshuffle His Government Members

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday assured that there will be no government reshuffle during his second term as a prime minister in the coalition government.

The premier's remarks came after some local reports said there will be a reshuffle of government members in the near future.

"There will be no reshuffle of the government members unless they die," Hun Sen said in Siem Reap, at inauguration ceremony of road rehabilitation, which was broadcast later by radio.

Hun Sen, however, said that the reshuffle can be done after 2003 if he fails the next election.

"Without my initiatives, no others can propose such reshuffle," he said.

Hun Sen was elected as a Co-Prime Minister by general elections in 1993 and Prime Minister in 1998, while the next election will be held in 2003.
