China to Enroll 160,000 Graduate Students

The Ministry of Education announced Wednesday that Chinese universities will enroll 160,000 graduate students this year, an increase of 40,000 compared to last year.

An official of the ministry said that this is to provide more people with opportunities for graduate study and reflect the nation's developing needs in education.

This year, about 460,000 Chinese applied for masters' degrees, an increase of 18 percent, compared to last year. The preliminary examination will be held from January 13 to 15.

The three most favorite graduate degrees are MBA, computer application, and law. Beijing University, Zhejiang University, and Fudan University are most attractive to the applicants.
