Top Chinese Scientists Visit Hong Kong
A group of top Chinese scientists Monday started their week-long visit in
Hong Kong
to boost academic cooperation between China's mainland and Hong Kong.
Among the 30 members of the visiting delegation are 14 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 11 academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 5 university presidents.
During their stay in Hong Kong, they will visit 5 universities and many other institutions and organizations in Hong Kong.
They are also expected to have discussions with their Hong Kong counterparts on issues of the role of universities in the country' s knowledge-based economic construction.
Included are the topics on how to use advanced technology to promote the prosperity and development of Hong Kong and how to make the most of the inland research resources to boost China's economic construction.
