France Confirms Cause of Crash of Air France Concorde¡¡
France
confirmed recently that the crash of an Air
France
Concorde supersonic aircraft on July 25,1999, was caused by the explosion of a tire which led to the outbreak of fire from the reservoir.
The Bureau of Accidents Investigation (BEA) said that the tire of the undercarriage exploded after cutting into a metal strip left over by a DC10 of a U.S. air company which used the sametrack at the Charles-de-Gaulle-Roissy airport a few minutes beforethe doomed Concorde.
