SW China Province Builds Large Water Plant

The construction of the city's largest water plant started in Kunming, the provincial capital of southwestern Yunnan Province, Monday.

It also marks the launching of the country's most expensive urban water-supply project -- the Kunming Zhangjiu River Water-Drawing and -Supply Project which costs 516 million yuan. The new plant, which costs 100 about million yuan, will add another a 400,000 tons daily capacity to the city.

Till now, local water plants in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, have a total daily water supplying capacity of 700,000 tons.
