ICBC Sees a Turnover of 26 Bn Yuan in Bill Transaction

News from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China's (ICBC) Bill Department said on Jan. 5 that the department has concluded a transaction volume of 26 billion yuan in the past 50 days after its debut and hit a record high in bill trading, which signifies developing the bill market met the actual demands.

Data showed that the two-month operation of ICBC's bills department has been satisfactory. The 26 billion yuan turnover is in sharp contrast to the yearly turnover of 120 billion yuan of the whole country in 1999. (Panorama)
