Pakistan to Ask Taliban to Reduce Diplomatic Staff: FMPakistani Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar has said that his government will ask Taliban to reduce strength of its diplomatic staff here so that the country is able to comply with the UN Security Council resolution on sanctions against Taliban."The resolution requires that states which have diplomatic relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan should reduce the strength of their diplomatic missions. We will have to review the strength of the Afghan missions in Pakistan," Sattar said Sunday in an interview here with the Middle East Broadcasting Center. Pakistan is among the three Islamic countries that recognize the Taliban regime as the legal government of Afghanistan, besides Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirate. "So, as required by the resolution of the Security Council, we will require the government of Afghanistan to review the strength of their diplomatic missions, so that Pakistan is able to comply with this resolution." However, the foreign minister renewed his criticism to the UN resolution, terming it "unfair, unbalanced". The resolution "is likely to create more problems than it will solve," he observed.
