Japan
on Sunday in their second meeting at a women's ice hockey international competition here.
China defeated Japan 4-2 on Thursday in the opening match of the first stage of the competition. But they faced a big challenge from the Japanese in Sunday's game.
Each team scored a goal in the first quarter before the Japanese stole a 2-1 lead with a goal in the second.
China, the world A pool team, leveled in the third quarter and produced many chances to win the game. But their consistent attacking efforts were denied by Japanese goalkeeper.
