China Women Beat Japan 4-2 in Ice Hockey International

China defeated Japan 4-2 on Thursday in a women's ice hockey international competition, which serving as a preparation for the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Games.

China, who were the sixth in the world A pool championships, took an early control of the match against the Japanese, eighth in the world.

The two teams leveled at 1-1 in the first two sets before Chinese girls scored three in a row in the final period to win the first game of the competition.

China, who have booked the tickets for the 2002 Winter Games, will meet an amateur team, which is consisted of retired veterans of the national team, on Friday.
