A scientist at Vinca Institute for Nuclear Physics near Belgrade measures radioactivity of bullets made of depleted uranium with dosemeter on Friday, Jan. 5, 2001. NATO used ammunition and weaponry made of depleted uranium during its air strikes on Yugoslavia in 1999 and there are reports now of serious consequence on the health of the people. Two shepherd boys go back home with their livestocks against the sunset in the suburb of Xigaze, an important city of Tibet Autonomous Region. Farmers and herdsmen are self-sufficient in grain, edible oil and meat after years of construction with the help of the central government and the party. Now, per capita grain, edible oil and meat production are 429.2 kilograms, 19.18 kilograms and 68.38 kilograms respectively.

New Vegetable Base Developed in Guangxi

The Internet Technology Institute for Quality Education of Tibet University has recently been put into operation with the full support from the Ministry of Education, the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region and a fund society of Hong Kong. Today, a somewhat different picture of giant panda social life is emerging as they may be far more social than previously believed. National Zoo scientists are paying close attention to the interactions of the panda pair in order to gain more understanding of giant panda social behavior. The pandas arrived in Washington from China on December 6, 2000.
