China to Repay Treasury Bonds This Year

Starting from February this year, China will begin to repay the treasury bonds issued over the past few years, the Ministry of Finance announced Thursday.

According to the ministry, the government will begin to repay the 3-year certificate bonds issued in 1998 on February 20. It will begin to repay the 5-year certificate treasury bonds issued in 1996 on May 15.

In addition, the Chinese government will begin to repay the 2- year book-entry treasury bonds issued in 1999 on September 23 and the one-year book-entry treasury bonds issued in the year 2000 on November 24.

According to the ministry, China will begin to repay the 5-year special bonds issued exclusively for pension and unemployment insurance funds in 1996 on September 3.
