Zhongguancun Project Recommendation and Investment Symposium under Preparation

Preparatory work is under way for the Zhongguancun Project Recommendation and Investment Symposium to be held in 2001 jointly by the Zhongguancun Sci-Tech Park Administrative Committee and relevant departments. The meeting aims to display the construction projects of Beijing Zhongguancun Sci-tech Park, offer a butt-joint platform for capital and projects and provide high-tech enterprises and financial investment institutions with an opportunity for direct exchange.

At present, more than 300 innovative and industrialization projects from scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, high-tech enterprises and returned Chinese students have been concentrated in the Zhongguancun sci-tech park area.

These projects cover the five largest fields encouraged by the State with the emphases on IT, bio-engineering and new pharmaceutical field and involve micro-electronics, nano-material technology, bio-medicine, gene, etc., representing the present advanced level of industrial development in the Zhongguancun Sci-tech Park.

The symposium will invite more than 400 Chinese and foreign investment organizations, listed companies, transnational companies, enterprise groups which have shown intention of investment.

About 20 transnational organizations including the Commercial Office of the Norwegian Embassy in China, the Beijing office of the Japan External Trade Organization, the Beijing Offices of the Chevalier Commercial Holding Limited, the Sanwa Bank and the NISSHOIWAI Group of Japan and the SAVILLS Group Company of Hong Kong and more than 30 listed companies, including the Beijing Sci-Tech Risk Investment Co. have shown intention of exchanges with project units and units of development will have talks on exchanges and cooperation.
