Balladry Concert Held in BeijingAn art performance on balladry, the first of its kind in China, was hosted Wednesday at the concert hall of the National Library in Beijing.The concert, which was sponsored by a local folk art center, displayed a variety of traditional and folk art forms of ballad singing and story telling in the area of Beijing from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to nowadays. The content of the ballads included historical events, traditional stories, the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and modern life. |
