Daqing City Introduces 8.9 Billion Yuan in Investment

Daqing, China's largest oilfield, introduced investments totaling 8.91 billion yuan from the rest of China and the world in 2000.

In 1999, the city, located in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, brought in 137 projects involved an investment of more than ten million yuan.

The city handled imports and exports worth US$46 million in 2000, with exports accounting for US$15 million. Its revenues came to a record of 3.14 billion yuan last year.

In 2000, Daqing collected an estimated 19.46 billion yuan in taxes, a rise of 25.3 percent from the previous year, with state tax revenues hitting 16.42 billion yuan.
