Li Yundi, an 18-year-old student studying at Shenzhen Art School, beat all other world top pianists and won the gold at the 14th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition, which was held in Warsaw October 2000. So he became the youngest, also the first Chinese gold winner of the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in history.
