Northeast China City Hosts Ice-snow Festival

An ice-snow tourist festival opened on the last day of the 20th century in this capital city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

Attending the opening ceremony were foreign envoys from some 20 countries and more than 10,000 Chinese tourists.

Entertainment activities during the festival included ice-snow exploration and folk-custom trips.

Business conferences and some sports contests will also be held during the festival.
