Guangdong Speeds Up Job Market ConstructionSouth China's Guangdong Province plans to complete construction of a province-wide job information network by the end of 2003.The network will offer unified, standard and efficient information on job vacancies, and will inform job seekers on employment opportunities, explained a local official. At the end of November this year, the province spent 163 million yuan in constructing job markets and related online infrastructure. Six cities of the province are to have their local job market information networks connected with the province's job replacement monitoring center, wherein some 8,000 pieces of information on job vacancies are published online each day. Most job seekers in these cities are registered online and utilize the recommendation service of the network. In the meantime, construction of other supporting mechanisms regarding job markets, including rules, regulations and management of information, has also been sped up. In the first 11 months of the year, 158,000 out of the 450,000 registered laid-off workers and unemployed people in the province found jobs, with a 35 percent success rate. |
