Forum in Memory of Chinese Distinguished Scientist Held

A seminar was held in Beijing Friday in memory of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yan Jici, a well-known scientist and educator.

Speakers at the forum, including high-ranking officials, scientists, members of non-Communist parties and Yan's family members, recalled Yan's glorious life and highly praised his great contribution to the motherland.

They called on the young people to learn from the fine tradition of revolutionists and scientists of Yan's generation and to make greater contribution to the revitalization of the Chinese nation.

Yan passed away in Beijing in 1996, at the age of 96.
