China Intensifying Fire Prevention

China Intensifying Fire Prevention
China is intensifying fire prevention measures, drawing lessons from the Luoyang fire on December 25.

The General Office of the State Council and the Ministry of Public Security have released urgent circulars, urging local governments to ensure safety during the holidays around the New Year's Day and the Spring Festival.

The public security department of central China's Henan Province, where the Luoyang fire took place, has sent six teams of inspectors to supervise fire prevention work in the province's 18 major cities.

In Chongqing in southwest China, 65 teams of inspectors are checking the fire prevention systems of public places

Other provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Sichuan, Shandong, Hebei and Guizhou, also have carried out inspections for fire hazards.
